CH Avian Acres Valentine's Liebe
2/25/2008 - 11/24/2019
Liebe (which means 'love' in German) is one of our main foundation does and herd queen, here at Bear Park Bluff Goats. She is an absolutely beautiful doe, that has produced terrific offspring for us! We are so happy to have her as part of our herd. Liebe is a very powerful doe! She is large bodied, yet still has great dairy character and angularity. She has wonderful feet, and her udder is very nice as well. She has great attachments and has held up throughout the years like a pro! Her teat placement is ideal, as well as the size of her teats too. This makes her a breeze to milk! Liebe has always done well in the show ring. Liebe has really spectacular genetics behind her! Her sire was line bred on AGS Stonewall's Raising Arizona. Other spectacular animals within her pedigree include, ARMCH Goodwood Tom Thumb, AGS ARMCH Gay-Mor's RA Mayfly, GCH/AGS Sugarcreek's FR Sand Flea, and many more. Liebe has mainly been used for 4H, in which she has received many high placings, at the state and county level.
"It has been a very difficult couple of days at Bear Park Bluff Goats. With a heavy heart we regret to inform the loss of our beloved foundation doe, queen, and beauty Ch Avian Acres Valentine's Liebe LA 90 (aka Liebe, pronounced "Lee-ba"). I had purchased Liebe in 2008, as a giddy and goat excited 13 year old 4Her, from Lance Krog of Avian Acres. My aunt and cousins had purchased their first Nigerian from him just a year prior so, with their guidance, we were able to connect with Lance and make our first Nigerian a reality. I remember sending countless emails to Lance with questions, concerns and excitement about getting my first Nigerian. He would always send back such beautiful responses filled with amazing information and encouragement. We were so lucky to get Liebe that year as I remember Lance saying that her dam, Valentine (AGS Ch Sugar Creek RB Valentine) was one of his favorite does. Lance was such a huge influence on us and the building of our goat farm. If it weren't for his kindness we wouldn't have been blessed with such an amazing animal, nor would we be where we are today. Liebe grew into such a beautiful doe! So much power, strength, elegancy, and correctness in an animal. Achieving countless wins in 4H and open shows, she went on to easily finish her ADGA championship. I remember in 2014 Thomas Considine named her Grand Ch and BOB, along with stating that she was his runner up Best Doe in Show. Liebe was also named 7th Place 5yo doe at the 2013 ADGA National show, along with 6th place Dam and Daughter (with Ch Bear Park Bluffs Liebestop Lucy) at the national show as well. Oh how proud we were! Liebe had such a beautiful udder, with nice round plump teats, a lovely round escutcheon, smooth fore udder, and great capacity. Only thing we didn't like about her udder was hand milking her, as her orifices were oddly small. We ended up gaining muscles on our fingers as a result lol! Liebe was also a bit of a drama queen when she had to get a pedicure. She never liked getting her back hooves clipped. It always seemed to be a wrestling match and a yelling war with her. But, after the wrestling was over, Liebe would easily win back your heart. With those she knew Liebe would come up to you for a neck scratch and in return she would give you the sweetest kisses (more like little licks) on your cheek. Liebe had a quirky side to her as well. Every show we would go to with her, she would always try to act like she knew where she was going. Whenever Liebe was taken out of her show pen, she was on the go!!! She would always lead the herd, whether she knew where she was going or not lol. She always knew when she was going to get scolded, like when she would sneak the corn from the chicken feed bowl. You would just have to look at her a certain way and she would do her little "I'm getting out of here" and run back to her pen. Liebe was my partner during one of my proudest moments, and helped me win Goat Showmanship at the Minnesota State Fair as a 4Her one year. Liebe provided us with many laughs, smiles and our fair share of cries. Liebe had to be retired early in our herd due to having to undergo a c-section after a single kid had passed in utero. Liebe had numerous kids on our farm, even though we did have years that we were unable to get her to take. Her first daughter, Ch Bear Park Bluffs Liebstop Lucy LA 91, remains to this day one of the loveliest does we have produced here on the farm and shows so many of Liebe's lovely characteristics. Majority of does on our farm carry Liebe's genetics somewhere in their pedigree. She has been such an integral part of our farm. We will miss her dearly, but know undoubtedly that Lance is taking care of her and the rest of the goats that have passed, up in heaven. Thank you Liebe, my first and forever favorite goat <3" -Robyn S. 11/26/2019
